B. Sc. Physics Programme
The B.Sc. Physics programme offered by St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Irinjalakuda is a three-year undergraduate programme that deals with the basics of Physics. It teaches the graduates essential topics such as Quantum mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Calculus, Semiconductors, Waves, Statistics, etc. The duration for the programme is divided into six semesters, and syllabus for each semester comprises theory and laboratory sessions. Practical examinations will be held during the fourth and sixth semesters.
To be eligible for B. Sc. Physics programme, students need to graduate 10+2 with aggregate marks of 65% with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
M. Sc. Physics Programme
The M.Sc. Physics programme offered by St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Irinjalakuda is a two-year postgraduate programme that deals with the detailings in several branches of Physics. The duration for the programme is divided into four semesters, and syllabus for each semester comprises theory and laboratory sessions. Practical examinations will be held during the second and fourth semesters. Students get an oppurtunity to do internships at other institutions also.
To be eligible for M. Sc. Physics programme, students need to graduate Bachelors in Physics with aggregate marks of 70%.
